Cross native Dr. Daisy Nelson Century recently earned a Black Belt in Karate. Her thrice-weekly workout includes jumping jacks, sit-ups, crunches, jogging, jumping ropes, hitting the bags, tumbling, push-ups, high kicks and stretching under the guidance of her Master Instructor in Tae kwon Do Karate. She is just a handful of senior women who have reached the Black Belt level. At a recent tournament there was no one in the 50-and-over category for her to compete against, so she competed in the 20-and-over category … and came home with three trophies.
