While executing a search warrant the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit located a meth lab and arrested a Goose Creek man on related charges April 4, according to a statement released by BCSO.
Deputies took Scott Michael Grimm, 34, of 431 Surfside Drive in the Goose Creek area of Berkeley County into custody after finding the methamphetamine lab, approximately 2.2 gross grams of methamphetamine, approximately 0.5 gross grams of marijuana and weapons in the residence at that location.
Grimm is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine within a half mile of a school/playground, exposing a child to methamphetamine, and simple possession of marijuana.
Grimm is being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center. His bond for all the charges was set at $70,620, according to information on the detention center website.
The Surfside Drive meth lab is off Harbour Lake Drive, less than a quarter of a mile from Pine Harbour Apartments, where a building burned in a deadly May 31 fire after a meth lab exploded.
