A couple visiting from out of town went to Shem Creek to enjoy dinner and cocktails. When they walked outside to leave they were approached by a clean cut guy, about 21 years old. He said he worked for the restaurant, and as part of the service the restaurant offered, he would be happy to drive them home in their own car. The victim thought this was surprising, but agreed. When they got back to the hotel the driver told the couple that the last guy he did this for gave him $100. The victim told the driver he was not going to give him $100. But he did give him $5.
This enraged the driver and he berated the victim as he walked through the parking lot toward the hotel. That is when the victim realized the driver was intoxicated.
The victim asked the hotel clerk to call police and upon hearing this, the suspect took off running. Police patrolled the area but could not find him. Back at the restaurant, the employees there told police that they do not offer a service like that.
