HMS wins Eco Challenge Regionals
The Hanahan Middle School Eco Challenge Team has won the Southeast Regional round of the Lexus Eco Challenge for the fourth straight year. The team will continue onto the national final round this month to compete for $30,000.
For their national project the team wants to spread the word about the benefits of recycling in the community. They have initiated the Caps for a Cause Campaign, collecting hard plastic bottle caps. These caps will be recycled and turned into a bike rack, bench and picnic table for the school. They hope to collect 50,000 caps before the end of the month.
If you would like to help the team on their journey to nationals, please donate your caps. They will accept any cap that twists and does not contain metal. Donations can be dropped off in the collection bin located in the lobby of Hanahan Middle School.
