Stratford High School will host one of the annual Hawg Tuff football camps on March 2 and there are some changes in store that figure to bring in more players.
It’s now an all-positions camp and not just a camp for offensive and defensive linemen.
“We’re trying to expand as much as we can,” said camp host Arthur Jashienski, a Stratford assistant football coach. “We’ve got plenty of experienced coaches that can coach multiple positions. We’re going to have a skill group and a lineman group.”
The camp is for grades 3-12 and includes over six hours of quality instruction, lunch and a camp T-shirt.
Cost is $50.
This is the second year Stratford has hosted the camp. It was previously at Hanahan High School for a handful of years.
“The plan is to keep things fresh by changing it to a different high school and change the style and coaches every few years,” Jashienski said. “… We want to keep these young kids playing football.”
For more information on the Stratford Hawg Tuff camp, please call Jashienski at (843) 729-2827 or Dennie McDaniel at (843) 345-9253.
McDaniel is also a Stratford football coach.
Other Hawg Tuff camps will be held this spring at Byrnes High School (March 9), Blue Ridge High School (March 16), Blackville-Hilda High School (March 16), Lamar High School (April 20) and Carolina Forest High School (April 20).
More Hawg Tuff camps are held in Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and other states.
