A Goose Creek woman died after being struck by a vehicle as she was crossing Redbank Road on Saturday, according to a statement released by Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury on Monday.
Sally A. McHugh, 65, of Goose Creek was crossing Redbank Road at 12:40 a.m. on Dec. 15 when she was struck by a truck. She was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after her arrival, according to Salisbury.
Her death has been ruled accidental with blunt force trauma as the cause of death. The accident was investigated by the coronerís office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The fatality is the second on Redbank Road in two weeks: On Dec. 8, a Goose Creek man was fatally struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the road near Goose Creek High School.
