About 50 Devon Forest Elementary School staff members brought a priceless, beautiful gift to the Goose Creek area when they went Christmas caroling the night of Dec. 19.
They started at the school parking lot and sang like cheery songbirds with group vocals on holiday classics such as “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”
A small crowd from nearby residences gathered in front of the teachers as they started at 5 p.m. The staff all wore green shirts with a snowman on the back. Some teachers donned antlers, red scarves and Santa hats.
After boarding a school bus they sang for children, families and residents while touring and stopping at several neighborhoods in the school’s attendance zone such as Berkeley Commons, Carnes Crossing, Okatee, Persimmon Hill and Fairfax.
