TTC plans slave dwelling presentation

Trident Technical College’s Department of History, Humanities and Political Science is presenting Joseph McGill and The Slave Dwelling Project on Monday, Nov. 26 at 12:35 p.m.
The free event will take place in Building 410, rooms 212 and 214 on TTC’s Main Campus in North Charleston. The public is invited to attend.
The event will consist of a presentation on McGill’s overnight experiences in 36 former slave dwellings across 11 U.S. states. McGill, who is a field officer for the Charleston Field Office of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, is working to bring awareness and preserve the dwellings where African American ancestors lived while enslaved.
