Be a channel of good this holiday

The season of turmoil is slowly evaporating as Thanksgiving makes its appearance followed by Christmas.
The turmoil of the election is over. We are still feeling the ripple effect of course, but the power of family get togethers, the joy of sharing during the Thanksgiving holidays hopefully will help to get rid of the election upheaval.† After Thanksgiving comes that joyous season of the year, Christmas, as we celebrate the birthday of Jesus.
Here are a few tips to help you enjoy the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Turn off the talk radio that incites your anger or creates unrest in you against others. Muster the energy to share goodwill.
America is a family. Well, families donít kill family. They have differences, conflict occurs, and then they move on.
Drop the petty spite, bad talking and bad mouthing of the other party, other family, other group, other person. Give your heart and mind a rest from the negative. Donít let negative passions inflame you and spoil your holidays while those you dislike are at peace and rest with their families and friends.
Actively spread goodwill. Be the bearer of good news amidst the gloom and doom messengers.
Be the peacemaker where there is war. Be the one that shares hope where others are consumed by hopelessness. Be a light where you see darkness.
Do good where you see evil present.
We are never hopeless as long as we know Jesus Christ. For all the great things that notable Americans have done to advance this country, the chief architect of our success has been God. If it wasnít for Him we would not be the America we are today and without Him all we will do is go downhill.
Donít put your trust in politicians. Donít accept any of them as savior. God alone can make and keep America strong.
This holiday spend some time with Him. Go to your house of worship and pray. Spend time as a family and worship. All the nonsense that some Americans have been talking about doing makes no sense.
We donít need to take back America. America needs to take back God into its life and I donít see any party or group, including evangelical groups, that are pointing Americans in that direction.
Be an example of charity. Share love. Do something for the poor, the needy, the homeless or the homebound. Let us try and be selfless for a few weeks and put somebody else in front of us. There is nothing better than going to bed with a clean clear conscience knowing that based on the little you have, you have done something to make someone else smile and say, ďThank you, Lord.Ē
