Mary Francis Daning of Goose Creek passed away on Oct. 23, 2012 after visiting with her loving family and friends. She was 97.
Born in Mahanoy City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry William and Leona Seader Martin. She moved to Goose Creek in 1999 with her late husband of 63 years, Sofronio Daning. She was an independent woman, raising three sons while her husband served as a Merchant Marine.
Mrs. Daning was the treasurer and committee woman of the Republican Party in Villas, New Jersey for many years. Since moving to Goose Creek she was active in the Lower Berkeley County Senior Center. She crocheted lap quilts for Hospice and Senior Services. Mary was a devout Catholic.
She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her three sons, Daniel (Sunmi) of Las Vegas, NV, Thomas of San Diego, CA and Joseph (Brenda) of Goose Creek; grandchildren Michael Daning (Marina), Timothy Daning(Arlette), Thomas Jr. (Robin), and Maria Ciro (Vincent); great-grandchildren, Madison and Dylan Daning, Carolyn, Jonathan and Emmanuel Daning, Emily Grace and Matthew Daning, and Dominic and Genero Ciro; her cousin, Anna Grabowski; and a niece, Nancy Protack (John) of Millsboro, Delaware.
Services were held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Oct. 27 with the Mass of Christian Burial following a visitation. Graveside services will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund, 510 Saint James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445.
