The following incidents were obtained from Goose Creek Police Department reports:
• On a recent a night just before midnight, two Virginia Avenue residents had the windows of their respective SUVs smashed out, causing about $600 total damage. The damage appeared to be caused by a hammer because the impact site was circular.
Two days earlier around the same time of night a man opened the sliding door of the complainants’ residence while holding a sledgehammer. The subject told the victims at the time the low frequency radio was bothering him. The victim said he saw the same truck drive away after the SUV windows were smashed.
• Several items were stolen from a Commons Way residence in a case of second-degree burglary sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Oct. 3. The missing items are two Playstations, two Playstation game cartridges, two Xbox video games, a Vivitar digital camera, an Apple iPod and $25 in currency. The total loss of items stolen is $545.
The victim said the rear sliding glass door was mistakenly left unsecure but it was closed that day.
• A Moncks Corner man was in two auto accidents within two blocks of each other minutes apart. The driver hit a SUV with his pickup on U.S. 52 near the Post Office, fled the scene and caused another accident two blocks away. The driver admitted to causing both accidents and said he fled the first because he was driving while under suspension. The accidents occurred just after 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 3.
• On Oct. 2 at 4:50 p.m. a fight broke out in the parking lot of a home improvement store off St. James Avenue.
The subject, a 34-year-old Goose Creek man, was walking away from the scene when police arrived. The subject had lacerations on his knees, blood drops on his shirt, and he smelled of alcohol. He admitted he and some friends were involved in a mutual combatant-type physical altercation. Upon further questioning the subject became hostile, yelled obscenities and was disrespectful to units on the scene.
The subject was in earshot of patrons visiting the surrounding businesses and would not keep his composure. After several warnings the subject remained obnoxious, would not calm himself and was arrested for public drunkenness.
