Blomberg enlists

Jack A. Blomberg, son of Cristina Guillermo Natividad of Goose Creek and Orin P. Blomberg, of Olympia, Wash., recently enlisted in the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program.
The program allows recruits to enter the Navy and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiters as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life.
Blomberg will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center at Great Lakes, Ill.
Blomberg is a 2012 graduate of Goose Creek High School.

Deitrick joins Navy

Charles R. Deitrick Jr, a 2000 graduate of Stratford High School, recently enlisted in the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program.
The program allows recruits to enter the Navy and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiters as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life.
Deitrick will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center at Great Lakes, Ill.

Foster enlists

Marcel D. Foster, son of Lora A. Foster of Goose Creek and Melvin D. Foster Sr of Kathleen, Ga., recently enlisted in the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program.
The program allows recruits to enter the Navy and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiters as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life.
Foster will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center at Great Lakes, Ill. Foster is a 2008 graduate of Stratford High School.

Irby graduates

Air Force Airman Marcodius X. Irby graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base at San Antonio, TX.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Irby is the son of Marie Irby of Alabama, and the brother of Marvin Walker of Ladson. He is a 2011 graduate of McGill-Toolen Catholic High School in Mobile, Ala.

Lovette completes training

Army Pfc. Cameron J. Lovette has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions.  Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
Lovette is the son of Steven and Kelly Lovette of Goose Creek.
He is a 2008 graduate of Stratford High School, and he earned an associate degree in 2011 from Trident Technical College.

Skipper graduates

Army Pvt. Reginald B. Skipper has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions.  Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
Skipper is the son of Reginald and Cheryl Skipper of North Charleston. He is a 2008 graduate of Hanahan High School.

Speights completes basic

Air Force Reserve Airman Trevor D. Speights graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Speights is the son of Delores Speights of Ladson. He is a 2008 graduate of St. Johns High School.

Townsel joins Navy

Antonio S. Townsel, son of Katrina Y. and Jason C. White of Goose Creek, recently enlisted in the United States Navy under the Delayed Entry Program.
The program allows recruits to enter the Navy and take up to one year to complete prior commitments such as high school. Using recruiters as mentors, this program helps recruits ease into the transition from civilian to military life.
Townsel will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center at Great Lakes, Ill.
Townsel is a 2011 graduate of Kearny High School of San Diego, Calif.
