The following incidents were obtained from Goose Creek Police Department reports:
• On Aug. 17 at 7:30 a.m. a car rental and sales dealership employee noticed that someone had stolen the catalytic converters off eight cars built between 1999 and 2006. The damage caused by the theft is an estimated $2,100. The incident occurred on South Goose Creek Boulevard.
• On Aug. 19 at about 2:45 a.m. an Eight Point Road resident heard a loud crashing sound and woke up to investigate. Someone apparently removed two mailboxes and threw both of them through the victim’s window.
The mailboxes were in the sitting room and when officers arrived they could not immediately remove the mailboxes because they were covered in shards of glass, as was the rest of the room.
• A Heron Lane woman was expecting a package in the mail on Aug. 13; two days later she reported that someone had tampered with her mail, which contained a water-proof camcorder. She said she was supposed to receive the package on a Monday but by Wednesday it had not arrived. She called UPS, which said the item was delivered Monday.
She said she and her family were home that day hours before the package supposedly arrived. The case has been closed.
• On Aug. 20 sometime between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. a house on Terrier Road was broken into. The burglars apparently entered through the garage door and stole a total of $1,260 worth of items, including a laptop, an MP3 player, video games and currency. The house was in disarray when police arrived and a mattress had been lifted as if the unknown burglar or burglars were looking for something under the mattress.
