Gallaghers celebrate 50th anniversary

Robert M. and Joyce J. Gallagher marked 50 years of marriage on June 27.

The couple celebrated their golden anniversary with a family vacation to Hawaii.

Robert and Joyce renewed their marriage vows at Submarine Base Memorial Chapel, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where their wedding took place 50 years ago.

Following the Renewal of Vows was a dinner at Morimoto Waikiki.

Taking part in the celebration were the couple’s children and their families: Michael Gallagher, his wife Christine and their son Robert; Debra Thomas, her husband Brantley and their daughter Mary Jordan Thomas.

Robert retired from the U.S. Navy in 1985 and from Civil Service in 2002.

Joyce, the former Joyce Jordan of Jackson, Ohio, worked for Dr. Fredric Schuh, and is also retired.

The Gallaghers make their home in Summerville.
