The Goose Creek Lions Club meets the second and the last Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church on St. James Avenue in Goose Creek.
Lions from other clubs are always welcome. Community members may want to attend the informational meetings as well.
The Aug. 13 meeting will see Ann Ackerman, CEO of the Walker Foundation, present facts about how the foundation works to better the lives of children, specially children at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and the Blind.
For more information go to www.scsdb.org.
The Lions would like to thank the community for supporting the Lion Club's Pancake Breakfast held at Applebee's. This project is local and all the funds are used right here in Goose Creek.
Lions are reminded to bring items such as dry cereal, peanut butter, jelly, travel size soap, paper towels, empty egg cartons, and plastic bags for Helping Hands. Please bring eyeglasses, hearing aids (with used batteries) and used ink cartridges.
The club needs ideas of where to plant trees or permission to plant trees at schools. For more information go to www.goosecreeklionsclub.org or look for Goose Creek Lions on Facebook.
Call Lion Tim Murray at (843) 442-0851 for more information.
