Bodies found in Summerville house

  • Thursday, November 1, 2012

The Summerville Police Department and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two people found in a home in Summerville Wednesday.
Nisbet identified the male victim as 30-year-old Eric Scott Yates; he was not able to release the name of the female as of press time Thursday.
According to Nisbet, the bodies were discovered inside a home at 113 Lenwood Drive, in the Twin Oaks subdivision off Trolley Road. Nisbet said the cause of death is unknown, but the victims were apparently staying in a residence that had no electricity. They apparently did have a generator but neighbors complained about it, so apparently it was moved it inside the home, he said. This may have contributed to the victims’ deaths, he noted.
Nisbet said he would be conducting autopsies on both victims Thursday to try to determine cause and manner of death.
The investigation is ongoing.
