Stephen Colbert made a surprise appearance at Marrington Middle School of the Arts on Oct. 14. Colbert was invited by his brother, John, who teaches eighth grade South Carolna History at the school. The host of the Colbert Report entertained students with stories of his childhood, answered questions and spoke on the value of arts in education. The eighth grade was introduced to Colbert by Principal James Spencer in a way that caused the  children to expect their history teacher; their squeals of delight greeted the celebrity as he entered.
