Judo instructor honored

Provided - Senior Airman Ronni Aragona

Senior Airman Ronni Aragona, a local judo instructor at the Naval Weapons Station, was recently presented the Soaring Eagle of the Year award by the Armed Services Judo and Jujitsu Academy, a chartered member of the United States Judo Association.
Each year, the award is given to  deserving United States military active duty personnel participating in martial arts programs aboard military installations.
Aragon, a New York native, is a member of the United States Air Force at Joint Base Charleston, currently performing law enforcement and security duties with the 628th Security Forces Squadron.
She is a life member of the United States Judo Association and has been ranked nationally in her weight class as a competitor. She is focusing her judo training towards elite level competitions nationally and internationally.
The program at the NWS is free to all military and DOD personnel in the area.
