Arpan and Neha Kotecha were all smiles last week when Mount Pleasant Town officials, family, friends and new customers crowded around them to congratulate them on their new store in Belle Hall Shopping Center
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, they cut the ribbon on their new store Tasty Image.
The company has been around since 2003, but is new to this area.
The couple hope to attract plenty of eager boyfriends.
The chocolate printing technology at Tasty Image is new to the area and expected to be wildly popular.
Personalized chocolate gifts are their specialty.
Give a gift of chocolate with the recipient’s name, logo or hobby - or take this tasty treat mobile. Tasty Image can set up a chocolate photo booth at wedding receptions and birthday parties, take photos at the event, and then print those images onto chocolates for guests to hand out.
They also offer Fun-Do, a spin on fondue that includes 12 dipping items like fresh strawberries, pineapples, Rice Krispy treats and marshmallows. After you’ve selected your dessert items you just pour warm, melted milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate or caramel on it.
Regular hours for the shop and fondue bar are Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m., and Sunday, noon - 7 p.m.
They feature gifts for every holiday and occasion from a box of candy or platter of fresh dipped fruits, complete with their monogram or family crest. Spell out an engagement proposal on Belgian truffles. Thank a teacher for a job well done with a truffle bouquet and edible card. They can even create personalized gifts while you wait.
In 2003, teacher and single mom Derri Cerbone accompanied a friend to a business opportunity tradeshow. During the two minutes she waited for her chocolate photo to print, she made the decision that this was the key to unlock her financial future.
Cerbone started Tasty Image in Jupiter, Fla., out of a home office. The first Tasty Image retail store opened in 2006. In attendance at the grand opening last week, she told the crowd that her father, a professional photographer, gave her the idea for the company name. He kept tasting the chocolate, she said, and saying, “Wow, that’s a tasty image.” After he repeated it several times, it was a done deal.
Their innovative printer uses vibrant FDA-approved food grade ink to recreate photos as high-resolution, full-color edible images. These patented food grade inks are formulated with no taste or odor, so all you taste is the chocolate.
The new store is located at 644-E Long Point Rd., Mount Pleasant. Call 843-654-9194 for more information.
