GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Forecasters say a winter storm plowing its way toward South Carolina and could bring freezing rain, sleet and snow to the northern part of the state.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from Friday evening to Saturday evening for areas northwest of a line from Greenwood to Chester. Two to four inches of snow and sleet are expected.
The weather service says snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected to start falling Friday evening, changing to freezing rain before sunrise Saturday.
A winter storm watch has been issued from Newberry to Bennettsville, with sleet and freezing rain that could leave significant ice accumulations.
Forecasters say power outages are possible.
