Former Goose Creek catcher Anthony DeMeo recently verbally committed to continue his playing career at Southern Wesleyan University in Upstate South Carolina next season.
DeMeo, a recent graduate of GCHS, helped lead the Gators this spring, batting .297 with four home runs  and 16 RBIs. He was also hit seven times this season, his third as a letterman for the Gators.
Southern Wesleyan, a four-year NAIA program, competes in the Southern States Athletic Conference. Southern Wesleyan is also a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association.
The Warriors were 13-28 overall this spring and 8-13 in SSAC play.
DeMeo is the second Gator baseball player moving on to the next level. Earlier this spring, first baseman/pitcher Elijah Nichols signed with Coker College.
